Welcome to VUST!

The Student Services Office at Virginia University of Science and Technology leads and engages a community of academic advisors dedicated to creating an exceptional environment for students to explore opportunities, identify goals, and implement plans to achieve them. We aim to provide an educational experience characterized by personalized academic plans, meaningful relationships with faculty, and the acquisition of both general knowledge and discipline-specific expertise. We value the diverse perspectives of faculty, staff, and peer academic advisors who collaborate to guide students and introduce them to the many opportunities and resources available across campus. Finally, we encourage all students to take ownership of their educational journey by proactively exploring, regularly reflecting, and intentionally planning as their goals evolve over time.

As a graduate institution, each student is assigned a faculty advisor who assists not only with course planning, but also with internship selection and post-graduation job placement.  In addition to faculty advisors, VUST has a Career Services Office that helps identify employment opportunities aligned with the job-ready skills our students acquire.  Our institutional goal is to achieve a high placement rate in fields for which students are qualified.  While our commitment is strong, we cannot guarantee that all graduates will secure employment in a relevant field.
