VUST 3

The Virginia University of Science & Technology (DBA: VUST) is a private institution of higher education located in Tysons/Vienna, Virginia. VUST offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (MSCIA), the Master of Business Administration (MBA), and the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT).

Qualified Professors:

Most professors teaching in our programs hold doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or business administration from leading U.S. or international universities. In addition to their academic credentials, they are senior managers, technical leaders, chief scientists, project engineers, business leaders, human resource executives in government agencies and private industries. Many also serve as adjunct faculty at prestigious institutions such as Georgetown University, George Washington University, the University of Maryland, and George Mason University.

Hands-on Curriculum:

Our faculty members are both scholars and practitioners who bring real-world expertise into the classroom. They teach what is practical, relevant, and essential for today’s workplace. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning to equip students with advanced technical skills and knowledge highly sought after by employers knowledge and advanced skills that today’s employers demand

Current Technology Labs:

VUST hosts a Cybersecurity Lab, a Systems & Networking Lab, and a Big Data & VR/AR/AI Lab. These labs provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge, practice with current technologies, and develop the hands-on skills necessary for successful cybersecurity and IT careers.

Small Class Size:

Classes typically range from 15 to 25 students, fostering personalized attention, meaningful faculty interaction, and a supportive learning environment. At VUST, students are recognized by name—not treated as numbers.

Flexible Class Schedule and Learning Environments:

VUST accommodates the needs of working professionals by offering flexible scheduling. Students may attend classes in person on campus or join live, synchronous online sessions via MS Teams from anywhere in the world. This hybrid approach allows students to maintain employment while pursuing graduate study.

Professional Certifications Training:

To enhance career competitiveness, VUST provides certification training alongside academic coursework. The tuition includes preparation for CompTIA Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) exams, equipping students with valuable industry-recognized credentials.

Convenient Location:

Located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, VUST is just 15 minutes from the White House, U.S. Capitol, and Dulles International Airport, and 25–45 minutes from most of the DMV region. The campus is also highly accessible via the Washington Metro Silver Line, with Greensboro and Spring Hill stations just one block away.

Post-graduation Service:

VUST supports its alumni with two years of post-graduation benefits. Graduates of all programs may return to audit courses, either on-campus or online, at no cost (subject to seat availability), to strengthen skills relevant to their careers.

Job Market Demand:

The Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is one of the largest markets for cybersecurity and information assurance professionals. According to Indeed (August 2022), salaries for cybersecurity specialists in the U.S. range from $78,746 to $153,217, depending on experience, education, and certifications. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects long-term job security in cybersecurity, estimating demand growth for at least the next 15 years—significantly outpacing many other IT fields.
